I wish the media and Mahmoud Khalil’s supporters would stop referring to him as a “pro-Palestinian” activist. He’s not. I wish they also stop repeating the lie that he is opposed to the Israel-Gaza war. He’s not that either. He is clearly pro-Hamas, anti-Israel and most likely antisemitic.
If he was truly pro-Palestinian there would be some history of him speaking out against the abuse of the Palestinians in Gaza by Hamas. But there not a mention of that anywhere. If he was truly antiwar or pro peace there would have been some mention of him speaking out after October 7 about the Hamas massacre of Jews at kibbutz Be’eri, kibbutz Nir Oz and at the Nova Music Festival. In fact, if he was anti war or even a decent human being he would have spoken out before the Israeli response to the October 7 massacre calling on Hamas to release the hostages that they had taken.
Khalil was clearly and absolutely not opposed to the Hamas attack on Israel and its massacre of Jewish civilians he was only opposed to Israel’s response.
None of this is to say that I support the attempt by the Trump administration to revoke his green card and deport him. I just wish people would tell the truth.
