Leaving Pensacola (again)

At the beginning of the trip, I stopped in Pensacola and had a lovely time. I stayed at a Hyatt Place hotel near the airport and relaxed after the long initial drive across the country from LA. I enjoyed the dog parks in Pensacola but discovered that the high lite of each day was taking the drive across very long (toll) bridge to Pensacola Beach where I enjoyed both the dog friendly beach and the dog friendly restaurants. This time (in the last weeks of my trip) as I was leaving Florida, I intentionally found a hotel on the beach. The hotel itself had a tiny beach behind it where I could sit with Jerry and watch the sunset.

The evenings were chilly (too cold to eat outside at the dog friendly restaurants) but the days were gorgeous.

It was sunny and warm enough (high 60’s) to enjoy the beautiful big dog beach. I carried a camping chair with me out near the beach and sat and relaxed with Jerry by my side. It was so lovely that I extended my stay by an extra day.

I had a little bit of work that I was able to do from my room and I got caught up with the news (who would have thought that Trump clogged the White House toilet by trying to flush down documents that by law should have been sent to the archives of that he used burner phones during the January 6 insurrection)

I am at the end of the eighth week of this “last big road trip” and truthfully, I am simultaneously very much looking forward to getting home again and excited about the next stops. I am heading to New Orleans today and then from there next week to San Antonio.
